Private William W. Button, born 18 August 1839 in Glastonbury, Hartford County, Connecticut; died June 1893 in Kent, King County, Washington. He served in Company M.1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery (Union); enlisted 1 August 1864 at Portland, Hartford County, Connecticut; discharged 8 August 1865, but mustered out with his regiment 25 September 1865 at Washington D.C..

Private Button is interred at the Saar Pioneer Cemetery located at SR-167 and South 212th Street, Kent, Washington
